Santos have confirmed the appointment of Zeca Marques as their head coach.
Marques suddenly resigned as head coach of Black Leopards just few weeks after signing a new contract to manage the club in the 2015/ 2016 season.
Marques joined Leopards in February 2015 but managed to take the club to the 2014/ 2015 PSL promotion-relegation play-offs.
“Santos Football Club are delighted to announce the appointment of Zeca Marques as the club’s new Head Coach. A deal was struck between Mr Marques and Santos Chairman Mr Allie early on Thursday morning after protracted talks on Wednesday night.
“Addressing the Santos players at the club’s Lansdowne base on Thursday morning, Marques said that he was delighted to be joining a club with such stature and history, and outlined his desire to see the club return to the Premier Soccer League,” read part of a statement on the club’s official website.
