Banyana Banyana will kick-start their 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup preparations with a training camp that will be held in Cape Town from Wednesday, 9 January 2019.

The 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup will be held in France from the 7th of June to the 7th of July 2019. Banyana are in Group A alongside Spain, China PR and Germany.

Coach Desiree Ellis has announced a squad of 26 players to feature in the two games. The bulk of the team is made up of players that did duty in the 2018 Women’s AFCON in Ghana where Banyana Banyana finished as runners-up.

As part of the World Cup preparations, Banyana will also play two international friendly matches against Netherlands on Saturday, 19 January and Sweden on Tuesday, 22 January. In addition, Banyana will play a behind closed-door training match against Sweden on Thursday, 17 January 2019.

Both matches will take place at the Cape Town Stadium and will kick off at 15h00 and 19h00 respectively.
