The first MultiChoice Diski Challenge action of 2016 will take place in the Mother City on Friday afternoon as Ajax Cape Town host Bloemfontein Celtic.
The match is scheduled for the Cape Town Stadium (kick off set for 15H00 Friday), and is a curtain raiser for the evening’s Absa Premiership clash between Ajax and Celtic (20H00 kick off).
The Ajax Reserve team are currently languishing at the foot of the table, and coach Vladislav Heric will be out to try and ensure his side start off on a positive note by winning this game in hand; the original fixture having been postponed after Ajax defender Cecil Lolo passed away in a motor vehicle accident in late October.
Like Ajax, Celtic have played one game less than the other 14 teams, but they hold a more comfortable mid-table 10th position.
The Urban Warriors second stringers ended last year with two consecutive defeats, 2-4 against Sundowns and 0-2 against Platinum Stars, while Celtic beat Cosmos 4-0 before losing 0-1 to Maritzburg before Christmas.
