Cameroon fight back twice to force a 2-2 draw and deny Bafana Bafana what could have been a valuable three points away in Limbe on Saturday afternoon.
Bafana took the lead in the 17th minute through Tokelo Rantie. The score remained 1-0 until the Indomitable Lions equalised at the stroke of half time through Sebastian Siani to make it 1-1 at half time.
It was only five minutes into the second half when Hompho Kekana stunned the crowd by scoring with a spectacular strike from his own half.
Bafana were in control after scoring the second goal and could have increased the lead if it was not for wasting opportunities.
Bafana were made to pay the price when Cameroon defender Nicholas Koulou equalised with a header from a free kick in the 66th minute.
Bafana were denied a clear penalty in the dying seconds by the referee when substitute, Thulani Serero was pulled from behind inside the box.
Cameroon will face Bafana Bafana again in the return leg on Tuesday, 29 March 2016 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
