Maritzburg Fire Dlangalala

Maritzburg United have announced that they have “part ways” with their head coach, Zipho Dlangalala with immediate effect.

The Team of Choice had a decent start to their season down in Motsepe Foundation Championship with just one defeat in their opening eight games.

However, they have gone through a rough patch of late suffering three defeats in five games, leaving them 7th in the Motsepe Foundation Championship log table with 19 points, trailing Orbit College FC in first place by six points.

Coach Dlangalala’s last match in charge was a 3-1 home defeat against last placed Pretoria Callies.

“Maritzburg United Football Club and Head Coach, Zipho Dlangalala have mutually agreed to part ways, effective 27 November 2023,” read the statement released by the club.

“This decision has been reached amicably and by mutual consent. Maritzburg United Football Club would like to express its appreciation to Coach Dlangalala for his dedication, hard work and contributions during his tenure with the club. The club wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavours.

“The Football Club will commence the search for a new Head Coach and will provide updates as the process unfolds.”
