Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies produced a masterclass with a 13-0 victory over the already relegated Thunderbirds Ladies in the Hollywoodbets Super League clash on Saturday.
Sundowns’ goals were scored by substitute, Rhoda Mulaudzi, who scored a hattrick. Boitumelo Rabale, Salome Kekana and Lelona Daweti scored two goals while Nonhlanhla Mthandi, Khunjulwa Mali, Melinda Kgadiete and Regina Mogolola each added a goal.
The massive win keeps Sundowns on course to retain the league championship as expected with three games left. Sundowns lead UWC by 14 points, although UWC have three games in hand.
Thunderbirds are officially relegated after collecting just three points in 27 matches, they trail Lindelani Ladies by 10 points.
Also on Saturday, University of the Western Cape (UWC) collected three points following a 2-0 victory over Durban Ladies at the UWC stadium.
Second half goals Sibulele Holweni and Tiffany Kortjie were enough for UWC to secure a victory and keep pressure on the run away leaders Sundowns.
