Hollywoodbets Super league Round-Up: UWC Hand Sundowns Their First Ever Defeat

University of the Western Cape (UWC) produced the performance of their lives as they scored two first half goals to win 2-0 and hand Mamelodi Sundowns their first ever defeat in the history of South African women football at UWC stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Khanya Xesi opened the scoring for UWC in the 13th minute with a clinical finish after being put through on goal by Fiona Ndlovu.

Sibulele Holweni made it 2-0 to the home side with a beautiful long-range strike that left Sundowns goalkeeper Andile Dlamini baffled with 31 minutes gone to give UDUBS a commanding lead going into half time.

Sundowns throw everything at UWC, but the home side held on to hand the reigning champions their first ever defeat in the South African women professional football.

JVW remain the only unbeaten side in the Hollywoodbets Super League after scoring a hard fought 1-0 win away to City Lads who are the only side yet to score a point this season. The Blue Diamonds are top the log with the maximum 15 points after five games, with Sundowns second with 12 points.
