The DreamClub 100 project is the brain child of Cape Town City Chairman, John Comitis, with the vision of uplifting youth football in the football loving City of Cape Town on a large scale – Creating a platform and expertise for players to go from the streets of township football to every player’s ultimate goal of gracing the European stage.

The journey of this vision under the banner of Premier Soccer League outfit, Cape Town City FC, comes with the full cooperation and support of SAFA Cape Town, who’ve been instrumental in getting the programme out to as many local football clubs as possible.

The key feature of DreamClub 100 will be the Elite 16-team DreamClub tournament, from which 20 players will be selected to the Cape Town City FC Elite Academy. This tournament will be run exclusively for the 100 selected ‘Satellite Clubs’.

Immediate benefits for clubs who apply to be part of the DreamClub 100 programme include:

Entry into the DreamClub 100 Under-16 tournament – Sponsored kit donated to your Under-16 team at the tournament – Sponsored balls donated to your Under-16 team at the tournament – DreamClub Loyalty Card issued to all club members – 50% off tickets for PSL Matches for all DreamClub Loyalty Card holders – Once we have selected the 100 clubs, each and every SAFA registered player/member of those 100 clubs will receive a Dream Club Loyalty Card, with further benefits.

“The dream for all young players with raw talent in Cape Town has become a reality, with this opportunity to develop into world class players. This project is key due to its inclusive nature to allow as many young players to have a realistic platform to be identified and drafted into a PSL structure in our Mother City. All DreamClub 100 clubs can then easily identify with Cape Town City FC,” commented John Comitis.

“For us as SAFA Cape Town, it has been overwhelming to see a professional club embrace community football the way Cape Town City FC has done through this DreamClub Programme. We did not hesitate to endorse the programme and the tournament when we realised the ongoing benefits that the affiliated clubs and SAFA Cape Town as a collective, would enjoy. We wish all the teams the best of luck and particularly the players who will end up selected for the Cape Town City FC Elite Academy,” stated Norman Arendse, SAFA Cape Town.

Closing date for entries will be at 17h00 on Wednesday 21 December 2016. Applicants will be notified by Friday 20 January 2017 *Ts and Cs apply
