Banyana Banyana coach Dr Desiree Ellis has trimmed Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) preliminary squad down to 28 players ahead of the continental tournament to held in Morocco next month.
The WAFCON tournament will be held in Morocco from 5-26 July 2025.
Dr Ellis initially announced a provisional squad of 46 players before reducing it to 28 players that will go into camp in Johannesburg on 19 June 2025.
The four overseas-based players will only join camp at a later stage due to club commitments.
The final squad announcement will be made on 23 June 2025 in Johannesburg, and then the team will depart for Morocco shortly afterwards.
Banyana Banyana are in Group C and they will get their WAFCON campaign underway against Ghana on Monday, 7 July 2025.
