DStv Premiership Tuesday round-up

Swallows FC continued their great start to their DStv Premiership season after defeating Cape Town City 3-2 at the Dobsonville Stadium on Tuesday.

Swallows marksman, Ruzaigh Gamildien scored two first half goals to give Swallows a 2-0 lead at halftime. Gamildien converted a penalty he won after he was tripped by Taariq Fielies in the 39th minute to make it 1-0. Two minutes late, Gamildien made it 2-0 after he finished of a cross by Kgaogelo Sekgota.

Mduduzi Mdantsane pulled one goal back for City from the penalty in the 54th minute.

Swallows were reduced to 10 men when Zaphaniah Mbokoma was shown a second yellow card in the 82nd minute.

City pushed for an equalizer against the 10 men swallows but it was the home team that restored their two goals advantage when Junaid Sait headed home from captain Lebogang Mokoena’s corner with 14 minutes left.

City were also reduced to 10 men in the injury time when Tashreeq Morris was shown a red card before Mdantsane scored again to make it 3-2.

Stellenbosch FC 2-0 Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC

Stellenbosch FC scored a 2-0 win over Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila at Danie Craven Stadium. Marc van Heerden scored the opening goal in the 65th minute before Phathutshedzo Nange added the second with 10 minutes left.

TS Galaxy 2-2 Baroka FC

TS Galaxy and Baroka FC produced a spectacular second half as they scored four goals in a space of 30 minutes to play to a 2-2 all draw at Mbombela Stadium.

Baroka raced to a two goals lead through goals from Ananias Gebhardt in the 55th minute before Gerald Phiri Jr added the second from a free-kick just five minutes later.

Galaxy fought back to earn a point with goal from Shaune Mogaila in the 64th minute and Mxolisi Machupu in the 84th minute.

The game between Golden Arrows and Black leopards was postponed due to unplayable pitch because of heavy rain.
