Marumo Gallants have confirmed that Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has officially lifted their ban on transfer of players after the club reached a settlement with former Kaizer chiefs forward, Gustavo Paez.
FIFA had imposed a ban on Marumo following a dispute with Paez and failure to compensate him for prematurely terminating his contract resulting in Marumo being handed a three-year transfer ban on registering new players.
Paez was signed by then Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC (TTM), before the club was sold and renamed Marumo Gallants. TTM had signed Paez in 2020 and released him without kicking a ball for the club.
Marumo have confirmed that they have reached a settlement with Paez and FIFA have since officially confirmed in a letter to the Club that the ban lifted.
Marumo Club chairman Abram Sello expressed relief at the lifting of the ban.
“We are relieved that the matter has been amicably resolved and that we will be able to plan for the next season,” Sello said in a statement released by the Club.
