Philisa Mjambane scored a hat-trick as the University of the Western Cape (UWC) cruised to a 7-0 victory over helpless Thunderbirds Ladies in the Hollywoodbets Super League at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
UWC led 1-0 at halftime through a goal from the on form Mjambane.
UWC came back from the break in the mood as they scored six unanswered goals through Mjambane with two more goals for her hat-trick, a brace from Sibulele Holweni and the seventh goal was scored by Noxolo Cesane to make it 7-0 at full time.
“Musona” Mjambane has now scored nine goals in the Hollywoodbets Super League.
On Sunday, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies walloped First Touch 6-0 at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
Masandawana defended and Captain Zanele Nhlapo scored a brace, opening the scoring in the 36th minute before scoring the finally goal in the 90th minute. In between Nhlapo’s goals, there was an on goal and goals from Bambanani Mbane (49th) , Hlogi Mashigo (52nd) and Khunjulwa Mali (65th).
Sundowns retain the top spot in the Hollywoodbets Super League with 28 points, same as UJ, but with a game in and.
