Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies helped themselves to Seven goals as they beat Lindelani Ladies 7-0 in a Hollywoodbets Super League at the UJ Soweto stadium, Soweto on Sunday morning.
The match was played as part of a double header with the second game being the battle of the universities between University of Johannesburg (UJ) and University of Western Cape (UWC).
Boitumelo Rabale opened the scoring in the 3rd minute of the game before Sundowns forced Lindelani into scoring an own goal to make it 2-0 with only seven minutes on the clock. Then, Miche Minnies scored two goals in a space of 10 minutes (26th and 35th minutes) to make it 4-0.
Salome Kekana made it 5-0 on the stroke of halftime to give Sundowns a comfortable lead going into the break.
Minnies completed her hat-trick six minutes into the SECOND half to make it 6-0 before Rabale scored her second on the hour Mark to make the final score 7-0.
In the second game of the day, UWC walked away with three points following a morale-boosting 2-1 victory over the home side UJ.
Sibulele Holweni gave UWC an early advantage when she converted a penalty in the 6th minute of the game to make it 1-0.
Just when UWC thought they were taking a lead into the break, Gugu Dhlamini thought otherwise as she levelled matters on the stroke of half time to make it 1-1 going into the break.
Bongeka Gamede score the all important winning goal in the 69th minute to ensure UWC walk away with all three points and the bragging rights with a win over a rival university.
