The Sasol League National Championship group stages matches were concluded today with Ezemvelo FC, Ramatlaohle Ladies, Kovies FC and University of Cape Town (UCT) qualifying for the semi-finals to be played tomorrow at Loerie Park Sports Grounds, Knysna.
Day 1 saw three matches played with the Kwa-Zulu Natal based side, Ezemvelo FC securing a 2-0 victory over the Eastern Cape side Sophakama. The second match was a university derby that saw the University of Free State side Kovsies FC edging out North West University (NWU) 3-2 in a match that could have gone either way. Limpopo side Ramatlaohle Ladies and Mpumalanga’s Super Strikers played to a thrilling 2-2 draw, a fitting conclusion to an entertaining 1st day.
Day 2 saw dreams being temporary dashed as teams fought to make the semifinals. First dream to be dashed was that of NWU after suffering a 3-2 loss to the Northern Cape based Royal Wizards. Super Strikers narrowly beat Gauteng’s FC Raycon 1-0 while Ezemvelo FC played to a 1-1 draw with University of Cape Town (UCT).
Day 3 saw more dreams being dashed as teams had to collect points to ensure they make the semifinals and give themselves a chance to earn promotion to the Hollywoodbets Super League. The day started with Ramatlaohle Ladies scoring an impressive 3-1 victory over FC Raycon before Kovsies FC also score 3 goals to beat Royal Wizards 3-0. In the last match, UCT knew they needed a convincing victory to advance, and they did not disappoint as they scored a comfortable 6-0 victory over Sophakama to advance to the semifinals.

Semi-Final 1 @11:00 : Ramatlaohle vs Ezemvelo
Semi-Final 2 @15:00: UCT vs Kovies FC
The winners of the semi-finals are guaranteed promotion to the Hollywoodbets Super League.
