Manousakis – We Are Happy With Our Points

Richards Bay Co-Coach Vasili Manousakis says that the three points they gained after their “grinded” 2-1 win over Stellenbosch in the DStv Premiership is very important.

Richards Bay came into the game at the back of two 1-0 losses against both Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport united, and knew that three points were important to stop the rot.

With the win over Stellies, Richards Bay are in 5th position with 10 points out of possible 18 points with three wins, one draw and two losses.

When asked if he was happy with the points they have accumulated so far this season, despite being new in the big league and having signed so many new players, Manousakis believes it helps to have the points in the bag while only 70% from where they want to be.

“Certainly! We are happy with the points so far,” Manousakis said.

“It could have gone completely the other way, and we could have been left still searching for that first win. Being a newly promoted team and new players who are still trying to gel, then you start scratching your head saying to yourself, now the challenge is on.

“We played some fantastic football last week against SuperSport United. I thought we were unbelievable the way we played, really like I expect us to play, and we got nothing.

“You have to change it up sometimes, so I think we are about 70% from where we want to be. But as you say, it helps to have the points, to have the three wins under our belt and not worry about it dragging you down on top of it.”
