SuperSport United Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Eric Tinkler as head coach on a three-year deal.
The former Bafana Bafana enforcer joins Matsatsantsa after spending only one year of his three-year deal with the “newcomers” Cape Town City.
Tinkler surprised many by leading Cape Town City to a 3rd position finish in the Absa Premiership and winning Telkom Knock-Out trophy in his first season.
SuperSport United CEO Stanley Matthews is excited to have a coach who has the potential to become one of South African’s great.
“We are excited about Eric taking the team forward. He has earned his stripes as an international player and as a coach, he has a fantastic track record of both building young players and being fiercely competitive within the PSL. By qualifying for a variety of domestic and continental Cup finals, he has shown his potential to be one of the great South African coaches of the future.” Said Matthews.
Tinkler will take charge of Matsatsantsa from 1 July 2017.
