Orlando Pirates beat Kaizer Chiefs 3-0 in the 2020 MTN8 semifinal first-leg match at Orlando Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The 3-0 scoreline have left Chiefs with a mammoth task of trying to overturn the Bucs lead going into the second-leg encounter at FNB Stadium this coming Sunday.
Chiefs were the better side in the opening 20 minutes and should have taken a lead but Kama Billiat’s attempt brushed the crossbar before Leonard Castro missed easily the best chance of the afternoon.
However, it was Pirates who scored first when Zakhele Lepasa headed home Terrence Dzukamanja’s cross after 26 minutes.
Pirates added two more goals in the 2nd half through Vincent Pule and Thembinkosi Lorch in the 67th and 81st minutes respectively.
SuperSport United 1-1 Bloemfontein Celtic
In the other semifinal,Bloemfontein Celtic held Supersport United to a 1-1 draw at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Phunya Sele Sele took the lead after 15 minutes through Ndumiso Mabena after he was played through by a delightful pass from Victor Letsoalo. They went into the break leading 1-0 but it took Matsatsantsa a Pitori just 5 minutes into the second half to level matters through Ghampani Lungu.
Celtic will host United at Dr Molemela Stadium in the return leg this coming Saturday, 07 November.
