Nemasisi: It had to happen

JDR Stars Chairman and Coach Nnditsheni Nemasisi says it was time his team got promoted to the South African professional league as they have been trying for a long time.

JDR, along with Cape Town based Steenberg United earned promotion to the National First Division (NFD) after coming through ABC Motsepe promotion playoffs held at Erica park in Cape Town.

Hammer Boys, as JDR are affectionately known were crowned the 2018/2019 National ABC Motsepe Champions after they beat United 1-0 in the final.

Nemasisi says he is happy to finally get promoted after trying for 7 years.

“I guess it had to happen, we have been trying. We have the right quality to compete at this level, I am happy.

The boys deserve to play in the NFD, they have shown the quality.

“I have been trying, 7 years is a long time. It means a lot to me and with the support my wife gave me, I think it is time that I repay her. It is time she sees why I have been in football. The vision I had and now, we have realized it. We are in the professional league, the future look great. Nemasisi said.
