Kaizer Chiefs have announced the signing of South Africa U20 international forward Langelihle Phili from Stellenbosch FC.
The 21-year-old forward arrives at Amakhosi after a breakthrough campaign last season in which he finished as Stellenbosch’s top scorer with nine goals.
Major, as Phili is affectionately known, was last season Stellies’ Players’ Player of the Season, Young Player of the Season and Golden Boot winner. The fans also voted him as “Rama Fans’ Player of the Season.
“Kaizer Chiefs are delighted to announce the signing of exciting and highly sought-after young winger Langelihle Phili from Stellenbosch FC,” said Chiefs in a club statement.
“We warmly welcome Langelihle to the Gold & Black family and look forward to a positive and successful career with Amakhosi.”
The Durban-born Phili, who only joined Stellies in 2024, was part of the South Africa squad that won the CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, and also represented his country at the subsequent FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile.
