Stellenbosch FC have announced the signing of their former forward Iqraam Rayners from SuperSport United F.C for an undisclosed fee.
Stellies didn’t confirm the length of the contract but indicated that Rayners has signed a long-term deal.
Rayners is returning to Stellies for a second stint after previously playing for the team between 2017 and 2020 scoring a club-record 36 goals in 81 appearances across all competitions.
Coach Steve Barker is excited to have his former marksman back in the Winelands.
“We are delighted to be able to welcome Iqraam back to Stellenbosch, Barker said.
“He played a big role in our past success, and we are hopeful that he can inspire more success in the future now that he has returned.
“He is obviously someone we know well at the Club, and we are looking forward to once again being able to call upon him for his quality, experience and proven goal scoring record.”
Rayners will wear the No. 9 jersey, and is in contention to make his second debut for the Club’s upcoming DStv Premiership encounter against Chippa United at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on Saturday, 4 February 2023.
