The Soweto Derby and the KZN derby will be the main attractions this weekend when the MultiChoice Diski Challenge festival returns to Durban’s King Zwelithini Stadium.
This will be the third MDC festival to be played at the Umlazi venue. The King Zwelithini Stadium hosted the first ever #Asidlali festival as well as the Quarterfinals fixtures in the 2014/15 season.
The MDC penultimate round of fixtures are set to take place on Saturday, 13 and Sunday, 14 February 2016.
Entrance to the stadium is free and tickets are available at all KwaZulu Natal Computicket outlets and Shoprite/Checkers Money Market counters. Two tickets will be allocated two per person for each match day on a first-come-first served basis. On collection, people will be required to produce a valid South African ID document.
On Saturday, Bidvest Wits will look to consolidate fifth spot when they take on ninth-placed Jomo Cosmos at 10h00 while log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns will be aiming to surge closer to the title when they host 12th placed Free State Stars at 12h00.
On Sunday morning, On Sunday, in what is termed MDC Derby Day, Lamontville Golden Arrows (second on the log) and Maritzburg United (fourth) will kick-off proceedings when they clash in the much anticipated KZN Derby. At 12h00, Soweto Derby fever will take centre stage when Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs do battle for the very first time in this season’s competition.
All matches will be broadcast live on SuperSport 4 (DSTV channel 204) and SuperSport Select (DSTV channel 210) and on community TV channels on DSTV.
