A solitary goal from Thabo Mnyamane was enough to send SuperSport United through to the final of the Telkom Knockout (TKO) after beating Orlando Pirates 1-0 at Mbombela Stadium on Saturday evening.

It was a return to the scene of Pirates’ most embarrassing defeat in recent years when they travelled to Mbombela to face SuperSport in the semi-final of the TKO cup on Saturday – Pirates lost 6-1 to SuperSport at the beginning of November resulting in Muhsin Ertugral resigning live on TV.
Mnyamane scored the only goal of the match in the 22nd minute after he latched onto a loose ball before beating Bucs keeper Jackson Mabokgwane.
Pirates had chances to come back into the game, with the best one falling to Thabo Rakhale just before the break, but he failed to score with the goal at his mercy after a great low cross from Luvuyo Memela.
Earlier in the day, Cape Town City walloped Free State Stars 4-1 at Athlone stadium in the 1st semi-final. City’s goals were scored by Lebogang Manyama (penalty), Roland Putsche, Mpho Matsi and man of the match, Aubrey Ngoma.
Thokozani Sekotlong scored the consolation goal for Stars with a great free-kick from just outside the box.
The final will be played on the 10th of December at the venue yet to be decided. SuperSport were confirmed as the team that will enjoy home team privileges on the day.
