Kaizer Chiefs have announced the signing of Khanyisa Mayo from CR Belouizdad in Algeria on a one-year loan deal.
The 27-year-old forward was on a brink of joining Chiefs from Cape Town City at the beginning of last season before deciding to move toAlgeria.
Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr expressed excitement at finally signing Mayo.
“It’s no secret that we wanted to bring Khanyisa to Naturena before his move to Algeria,” Motaung Jr said.
“He has a proven track record in the league, and we believe he will add significant value to the squad this season when we play in the league, as well as on the continent.
“He joins a select group of athletes who’ve made their families proud by following in their footsteps. We are truly happy to have him here and wish him all the best.”
Mayo is expected to link up with his new teammates next week ahead of their top of the table clash against Sekhukhune United.
