Lucas Ribeiro scored a brace to lead Mamelodi Sundowns to a commanding 1st leg 4-0 win at Bumamuru FC of Burundi in the CAF Champions League qualifier on Friday afternoon in Tanzania.
Lesiba Nku and Peter Shalulile who was returning from injury, scored the other two goals as Masandawana took a huge step towards qualifying for the next round ahead of the second leg at the end of this month.
Brazilian forward Ribeiro opened the scoring for Sundowns in the 13th minute from a penalty spot after Sundowns were awarded a penalty for a handball in the penalty area.
Sundowns doubled their lead in the 37th minute through Ribeiro before making it 3-0 through Lesiba Nku’s goal five minutes before the break.
Substitute Shalulile scored with 10 minutes remaining in the encounter to make 4-0.
