University of the Western Cape (UWC) showed their class with a comfortable 4-0 win over Coal City Wizards in a Hollywoodbets Super League clash at the UWC sports field on Saturday afternoon.
With the win, Bushies have now won all their three home games scoring eight goals in the process with only one goal conceded. They are now 4th on the Hollywoodbets Super League table.
Teenager Tiffany Kortjie opened the scoring in the 8th minute with a tap in after a howler from Wizards goalkeeper Mogola Mahlatsi, she misjudged a cross allowing it to drop on the feet of Kortjie to tap into the empty net. Noxolo Cesane doubled the Bushies’ advantage in the 33rd minute with a clinical finish from just outside the box. UWC led 2-0 at the break.
Forward Abongile Dlani added the 3rd goal eight minutes into the second after dribbling past two Wizards defenders before passing the ball past the keeper to make it 3-0.
Bushies had to play the last 30 minutes with 10 players after their second goal scorer Cesane was shown a red card but they managed to score their forth goal through substitute Janice Smith with four minutes left to make it 4-0.
UWC had a comfortable afternoon as Wizards failed to trouble goalkeeper Regirl Ngobeni and deservedly walked away with all three points after a 4-0 win to make it three wins in three at home.
Ludwig scores last minute goal to win three points for JVW
A solitary goal from substitute Isabella Ludwig in the final minute of the match was enough for JVW to secure a hard fought 1-0 victory over Thunderbirds at Sisa Dukashe Stadium.
