Coal City Wizards coach Mabu Moroaswi reveals his disappointment after his team lost 4-0 to University of the Western Cape (UWC) in the Hollywoodbets Super League on Saturday afternoon.
Their opponent on the day, UWC dominated the encounter from the start and registered a comfortable 4-0 victory over MaWizards.
“First congratulations to UWC, they deserve this one. Honestly, we did not pitch up! They were better than us in all departments,” Moroaswi told Diski Voice after the match.
“Honestly, I am very disappointed. If you look at the manner in which we played today and the last two games, in the last two games we created chances but today we were a different team. We were a bit down, some of the players were a bit down, I do not know what could be the reason but it happens in football.
“I am not going to complain, makeshift line-up, injuries, story of our season but it is not an excuse because they were better than us. It is one of those games where you need to learn from, go fix and bounce back.”
When asked whether his players had struggled to cope with the pressure of playing two away matches in a row, Oroaswi said: Maybe it [trips to Durban and Cape Town in consecutive weekends] contributed taking into consideration that some of these players are not available fulltime.
“In terms of recovery, it might have affected us. But again, it is not an excuse, we could have done better looking at the quality we have as well. So that is why I am saying that one is not an excuse as we have quality but today it was not our day, our team was a bit down. We need to go back and try to fix, next week lets hope we will come back a better team.”
