HWBSL Week 9 Round-Up: TS Galaxy Queens crush Lindelani Ladies

TS Galaxy Queens scored six goals as they cruised to a 6-1 victory over helpless Lindelani Ladies in a Hollywoodbets Super League at the King Zwelethini stadium, Durban on Sunday morning.

Lindelani can into the game at the back of three consecutive defeats that included a 7-0 heavy defeat at the hands of Mamelodi Sundowns in week seven.

Galaxy Queens came into the game under the guidance of their former mentor Sizwe Sibiya, who replaced Head Coach Ashraf Calvert during the week. Ironically, Calvert replaced Sibiya at the beginning of the current campaign.

Nomvula Kgoale opened the scoring in the 15th minute for Galaxy before Nicole Michael scored a brace in the 15th and 39th minutes to give Galaxy Queens a 3-0 lead going into the break.

Second half goals from Promise Selana (56th)  Mamello Makhabane (61st penalty) and Busisiwe Ndimeni (78th) completed the rout to make it 6-0 before Kholeka Njoko scored a consolation goal for the home side in the referees added time to make it 6-1 at full-time.

On Saturday, Mamelodi Sundowns continued their good form with  5-1 victory over Thunderbirds Ladies at the Lucas Moripe stadium.

Rhoda Mulaudzi gave Sundowns an early advantage when she scored in the 1st minute of the game to make it 1-0 before Regina Mogolola made it 2-0 in the 14th minute. Sundowns lead 2-0 at halftime.

Thunderbirds pulled a goal back in the 58th minute before goals from Malebogo Shawe five minutes later and a brace from Andisiwe Mgcoyi inside the last 10 minutes made it 5-1 at full-time.
