MDC Champions Sundowns Gear For European Trip

The 2016/17 MultiChoice Diski Challenge (PSL Reserve League) champions, Mamelodi Sundowns are gearing themselves for a nine-day European adventure. The Brazilians will jet off for the Netherlands this weekend.

The trip to the European country is the main prize awarded to the overall winners of the Diski Challenge.

The team, led by head coach David Notoane and skipper Motjeka Madisha will depart for the Netherlands on Friday, 17 March 2017 and return to South Africa on Sunday, 26 March 2017.

During their stay in the Netherlands, ‘Bafana Ba Style’ will participate in the MultiChoice International Challenge; a one day tournament involving three other teams from around the world; Excelsior Rotterdam (Netherlands), KAA Gent (Belgium) and Ichifuna FC (Japan).

The MDC champions will also play friendly matches against Beloften Eredivisie sides PEC Zwolle and AZ Alkmaar before spending some time at the Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB) headquarters in Utrecht training under the watchful eye of Dutch legends, Frank De Boer and Aaron Winter.

  • Arrive at Schiphol Airport at 10h20 (Saturday, 18 March 2017)

Return (Sunday, 26 March 2017)

  • Depart from Schiphol Airport at 10h35 (Flight KL591)
  • Arrive OR Tambo International at 21h20 (Sunday, March 2017)

The team will depart on flight KL 592 at 23h59 on Friday landing the next day at 10h20, returning on flight KLM 591 which departs Schiphol Airport at 10h15, and landing at OR Tambo Airport at 21h20.
