MultiChoice Diski (MDC) Challenge will this weekend make a return to Mdantsane, just outside East London in the Eastern Cape. This is the 13th festival of the 2019/20 season.
The two-day football festival will be played at Sisa Dukashe Stadium on Saturday 07 and Sunday 08 March 2020.
As the Diski Challenge league nears the business end, the remaining four rounds of fixtures will be very difficult and crucial the clubs; as some will are fighting for the title while others fix their eyes on the top eight spot that guarantees passage to the MultiChoice Diski Shield Knockout tournament.
The MultiChoice Diski Challenge title race will go to the wire as clubs like Bidvest Wits, Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates are focused on maintaining their winning streak.
The previous weekend provided a number of upsets that might have influenced the championship battle. Bidvest Wits suffered a 4-3 defeat by Kaizer Chiefs however the Clever Boys still accompany the top spot on the log with 58 point.

said: “Being top of the log at the moment is nice but isn’t comfortable at all as Mamelodi Sundowns have a game in hand and Orlando Pirates are just a point behind us so it’s very difficult. We still have a chance to win the MultiChoice Diski Challenge so we have to just keep the pressure up. Obviously, the results this past weekend was disappointing especially because a point could have given us some breathing room. And we thought we had that when we equalized but Chiefs got the late winner.”
He added: “All we can do now is take it game by game. We are just focused on the game against Black Leopards on Sunday. We have to focus this week on improving and preparing to get a result. We always back ourselves at home so we think this could be a great opportunity to keep the pressure on Sundowns and Pirates.”
Last weekend on Saturday the Buccaneers closed the gap with a 3-0 victory against Maritzburg United leaving them third on the log with just one point behind Bidvest Wits and second- placed Mamelodi Sundowns. Orlando Pirates coach Glen Salmon joined the club at the beginning of the season and has sailed the ship in the right direction.

said: “I’m very happy with the boy’s performance from the Christmas break and mentally we have been extremely strong. We have focused on keeping in touch with the log leaders, so we have achieved what we wanted and now we have to make sure we maintain the winning streak in the last four games and then we will see where we end up.”
