Mokwena – Lots Of Respect For Chiefs

Mamelodi Sundowns joint head Coach Rulani Mokwena says he is expecting a tough game against Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday in a DStv Premiership match as Chiefs are still a squad with good players, and a good coach in Gavin Hunt.

Sundowns will host Chiefs at Loftus Versfeld Stadium at 15:00.

“Chiefs are still a very big club, they deserve a lot of respect, the fixture between Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs is always one that is highly anticipated and of course, brings a lot of attention because of the magnitude of both clubs.” Mokwena told the club’s media department.

“But the reality is that because of that, Kaizer Chiefs, you have to be very sober-minded when you do your analysis and not derive anything from their log position, and the unfortunate result against Cape Town City.”

“They still have very good players, very, very good players, players with huge pedigree, very good experience, Khama [Billiat], [Samir] Nurkovic, [Lebohang] Manyama and some very good youngsters in [Njabulo] Blom, who can play with [Kearny] Baccus as a double pivot, and they’ve also got [Nkosingiphile] Ngcobo the youngster who is doing exceptionally well.”

“And so good team, big team Kaizer Chiefs, a lot of respect for them, with a very good coach, Gavin Hunt, he is experienced, he knows what he’s doing, and he needs a little bit more time but a very good coach who’s got the experience and is someone that I have great admiration and huge respect for.”

Sundowns are the log leaders while Chiefs is languishing in 11th place.
