Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium will be Amakhosi’s alternative home ground for the 2016/17 PSL season.
“We are excited to announce the Moses Mabhida Stadium as our alternative home venue for this upcoming season,” confirms Kaizer Chiefs Marketing Director, Jessica Motaung. “The stadium and the partnership details ticked the boxes, from brand association to the logistics checklist.”
The Amakhosi used Cape Town Stadium as their alternative home base in 2015/16 in what was affectionately named the ‘Cape of Love & Peace’.
“The Cape of Love & Peace was awesome,” reflects Motaung. “However, we are delighted to now give Durban a chance to host the three selected home games. We have always commanded tremendous support in the province of KwaZulu-Natal.”
General Manager of Moses Mabhida Stadium, Mr Vusi Mazibuko welcomed the news saying: “We are delighted to bring Kaizer Chiefs back to the city of Durban and our stadium where the club has previously hosted their CAF Champions League qualifiers. Historically, Moses Mabhida Stadium has been a good hunting ground for Amakhosi and we look forward to more thrills and action on the pitch this season as the club’s home away from home.”
Amakhosi will host three of the 2016/17 Absa Premiership league matches at the magnificent 56 000-seater Moses Mabhida Stadium:
