The South African Football Association (SAFA) has confirmed payment of bonuses to Banyana Banyana players for winning the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
SAFA President Dr Danny Jordaan confirmed that the payments were paid within 30 days of the final match as it war agreed with the players.
“The payment was supposed to be done within 30 days of them winning the title and SAFA has undertaken and fulfilled that commitment,’’ Dr Jordaan said at a Press Conference at SAFA House today.
The payments were done on Friday morning. The Sports Minister Nathi Mthethwa’s funding pledge would be an addition to the payment made by the Association.
Banyana Banyana star striker Thembi Kgatlana attended the press conference and could confirm that the payment were indeed paid.
