A solitary strike from Jermaine Seoposenwe was enough for Banyana Banyana to secure a 1-0 victory over Tunisia in the quarterfinal of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco on Thursday night.
Seoposenwe scored the all important goal in the 14th minute with a finish to the bottom corner from a beautiful pass by Mapula Kgoale.
The victory was not only enough to secure a place in the WAFCON semi-finals , but more importantly, it also guaranteed Banyana a place in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup to be held in Australia and New Zealand as all four WAFCON semifinalists qualify for FIFA Women’s World Cup.
