Durban City has confirmed that they have officially parted ways with head coach Gavin Hunt by mutual agreement.
Hunt joined City at the beginning of the current Betway premiership after their promotion from Motsepe Foundation Championship.
“Durban City Football Club can confirm that the Club and Head Coach Gavin Hunt have parted ways by mutual agreement, effective immediately,” the club announced on social media.
“The decision follows a review of the footballing strategy conducted by the Board of
Directors, which concluded a new approach is required to achieve the Club’s objectives.”
Chairman, Farook Kadodia said: “This was a mutual decision, taken with the Club’s
best interests at heart. I’d like to thank Gavin personally for his hard work and dedication,
and we all wish him well for the future.”
“It is now the right time for change as we look to build a competitive side with the future in
mind.”
Assistant Coach Pitso Dlada will be on the bench for City’s upcoming match against Orbit College on Wednesday.
