Stellebosch FC have confirmed that they have released seven players following the expiry of their contracts at the end of June 2023.
The seven players are Reid Bombay, Keegan Pool, Solomon Letsoenyo, Solly Khunyedi, Lance Weaver, Juan Carlos Ortíz, and Glen Hahn.
Goalkeeper Bombay (26) joined Stellenbosch in 2021 and served as an able understudy to senior goalkeepers Sage Stephens and Lee Langeveldt over the last two seasons. He made his solitary appearance for the club during last month’s DStv Premiership clash against SuperSport United.
The other goalkeeper on the list, Pool (25) arrived at Stellies in 2017. He was part of the team that earned promotion to the DStv Premiership.
Letsoenyo (25) made 21 appearances for the senior team across all competitions
Khunyedi (22) joined Stellenbosch from Bidvest Wits in 2020 and made a total of 29 appearances for the first team.
Weaver (23) was a prominent member of the club’s DStv Diski Challenge-winning side who will be leaving the club after making four appearances for the first team.
South American forward Ortíz (29) has returned to his homeland Venezuela after only a season-and-a-half in the Winelands.
