Banyana Banyana claimed Aisha Buhari Cup after a thrilling six-goal 4-2 win over rivals Nigeria in Lagos on Tuesday evening.

Banyana took the lead in the fifth minute after Chidi Alozie scored an own goal.
Banyana’s number 10, Linda Motlhalo converted a penalty in the 17th minute to make it 2-0 before Gabriela Salgado headed in a 3rd goal three minutes before halftime.
Desiree Ellis’ girls went into the halftime break leading by a surprisingly 3-0 lead against Africa’s number one ranked nation.
The Super Falcons came back from the break a determined side and pulled back two quick goals when substitute Vivian Ikechukwu scored within a minute of restart and again seven minutes later to make it 3-2
Nigeria pushed for more goals to get back into the game but Banyana stood strong. In fact, it was Banyana who increased their lead when Mamello Makhabane converted a penalty with five minutes left to make it 4-2.
