Mamelodi Sundowns destroyed University of Pretoria (AmaTuks) 8-0 in the Hollywoodbets Super League on Saturday at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
The Brazilians forward, Nthabiseng Majiya helped herself to first half brace while Asanda Hadebe and Lebo Ramalepe added two more goals to give Sundowns a 4-0 lead at the break.
Refilwe Tholakele, Karabo Dhlamini, Andisiwe Mgcoyi and Miche Minnies added four second half goals to complete the rout for Banyana ba Style.
Majiya’s brace took her to eight goals for the season, and she expressed her delight after the game.
“We knew that Tuks is a team capable of springing big results; hence, we were determined to avoid any surprises,” Majiya told Sundowns media after the game.
“Overall, I am happy with the outcome of the game, and scoring twice was the icing on the cake. The result shows how much what we are doing in training directly translates onto the pitch.”
In the only other match of the weekend in the Hollywoodbets Super League , Royal AM inflicted defeat on another Tshwane based side after a 3-1 victory over TUT Matsatsantsa Ladies.
