Banyana Banyana and University of the Western Cape (UWC) star midfielder Noxolo Cesane has completed a move to French side Stade De Reims on a two year contract.
The 21-year-old, who is a twin sister to the USA based Sinoxolo, has been an integral part of the UWC team for the past three years in the Hollywoodbets Super League.
Cesane wrote an emotional goodbye message thanking his coaches and family.
“Over the past three years UWC has been my home,” Cesane said through a statement on her social media accounts.
“They provided me with the platform to develop as a human being, a student and a football player but now is the time to say goodbye.
“I would like to thank coach Thina [Thinasonke Mbuli], Xolile Madikane (Cape Town Roses) and everyone else who has supported me in taking these next steps in my career outside of South Africa.
“To my family, I am so grateful for everything you have and continue to sacrifice to allow me to progress. Sinoxolo, keep working hard!
“These opportunities would not have come without the support and encouragement of everyone in the Banyana Banyana family. I am forever grateful. I will keep working hard to be ready to answer Banyana Banyana’s call whenever it should come.
“The months ahead will be exciting and a fantastic opportunity for me. To my supporters, the love you show me really means a lot, I hope to do you proud.”
