Swallows FC coach Brandon Truter and Mamelodi Sundowns star Themba Zwane have won the first DStv Premiership Coach and player of the month awards for October/November.
Truter’s side won three of their opening five DStv Premiership fixtures in October/November. The notable, morale-boosting start to the season saw Swallows FC collect 11 points in five games, taking them to second place behind Sundowns on the log standings.
Zwane won the prize owing to his impressive showing for the league defending champions. He scored five goals in October/November period, including a hat-trick against AmaZulu FC.
Truter was up against the likes of Coach Josef Zinnbauer (Orlando Pirates) and Baroka FC coach Thoka Matsimela while Zwane won ahead of his Sundowns colleague Peter Shalulule and Njabulo Ngcobo of Swallows FC.
For their efforts, Truter and Zwane will each get a trophy as well as R7, 000 courtesy of league sponsors, DSTV.
