Orlando Pirates forward Kermit Erasmus believes respect for Sekhukhune United and giving their best will key to his side’s chances of lifting the Nedbank Cup trophy.
Erasmus was on the scoresheet as the Buccaneers overcame arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs to secure a spot in today’s Nedbank Cup.
“It’s just about giving my best for the team. Hopefully, we can be victors on the day,” Erasmus told the club’s official website.
“We have a lot of respect for our opposition and we’re not taking anything for granted. We’ll go in there and give our best, and our best will hopefully bring the trophy home.”
“I just give my best whenever I’m given the chance to don the jersey. I’m blessed to be able to deliver on big games, and hopefully I can do the same on Saturday.”
Erasmus feels they have a plan oh how to approach the game having had a close look at Sekhukhune in their 1-1 draw when the two sides met in a DStv Premiership fixture at Orlando Stadium two weeks back.
“I think we have prepared well,” Erasmus added.
“We’ve got our plans for how they might approach the game, but you know it could change. It also could be the same, but we are prepared for whatever might happen on the day.”
The Nedbank Cup final is scheduled to kick off at 18:00.
