AmaZulu and Orlando Pirates have advanced to the semi-finals of the MTN8 after defeating Cape Town City and Royal AM respectively on Saturday.
Usuthu reached the MTN8 semi-finals after beating Cape Town City 2-1 after extra time away at the Athlone Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Augustine Kwem opened the scoring for AmaZulu after receiving the ball inside the box from Gabadinho Mhango before clinically firing past Darren Keet to make it 1-0 in the tenth minute. Khanyisa Mayo volleyed in an equaliser for City on the stroke of halftime to make it 1-1 at the break.
Both teams failed to find a winning goal inside 90 minutes before substitute Lehlohonolo Majoro grabbed a winning goal with six minutes of extra time left.
At Chatsworth Stadium, two goals from Vincent Pule and Thabiso Monyane were enough for Pirates to advance to the MTN8 semi-finals after defeating Royal AM 2-1 on Saturday evening.
Shaune Mogaila scored what proved to be a consolation goal for Royal AM.
Both sides finished the game with ten players after Khetukuthula Ndlovu of Royal AM and Goodman Mosele of Pirates were sent off in injury time after a scuffle between the players.
