Nedbank’s #PlayYourPart message extends beyond South Africa

The 2021 Nedbank Cup season may be over but this Saturday, 15 May, Nedbank will be encouraging football fans across Sub-Saharan Africa to play their part during the FA Cup final. With the return of football and Covid-19 on the rise, Nedbank launched the #PlayYourPart campaign to encourage South African football fans to unite in the fight against the pandemic by staying safe and watching football safely from home.

During the 2021 FA Cup final between Chelsea and Leicester City this Saturday, Nedbank will take the campaign, through visual branding, beyond South Africa to encourage football fans in Sub-Sahara Africa to continue playing their part.

“It’s great to witness football and other sport continue to take place, but for us it’s important to remind the fans to stay safe and play their part for their friends, family and loved ones. We are grateful for the opportunity to communicate this message to football fans through the historic FA Cup final this Saturday.

As we all know, Covid-19 continues to affect so many lives globally and as Nedbank, it is important that we do everything we can in the fight against the pandemic,” says Khensani Nobanda, Group Executive for Marketing and Corporate Affairs at Nedbank.

First played during the 1871-72 season, the FA Cup is one of the most respected and oldest national football competitions in the world. The final clash between Chelsea and Leicester City will take place this Saturday, 15 May at the Wembley Stadium.
